First meeting 22 October 2017
An invitation after church brought prospective members together in October 2017. The band was inaugurated on 9 October 2022.
It was on the 15th of October, 2017 when Sister Vida Ofosu Mensah made an announcement through the Society Steward that anyone interested to be a Christ’s Little Band (CLB) member to wait after Service. Twenty three people expressed interest to join on that day. Sister Vida Ofosu Mensah with the help of Brother James Dapaah Boateng introduced the vision and mission of CLB to those present. There was an agreement to meet on Sundays after Church service.
The first meeting was held on 22nd October, 2017 with Brother James Dapaah Boateng sitting in as Chairman with the support of Sister Vida Ofosu Mensah.
The Meetings continued to be held on Sundays after Church service until in January, 2018 when members agreed to meet on the Organisation’s designated meeting days being Wednesdays. Meeting then started to take on Wednesdays, 5.00 pm to 6.00pm.
Membership declined along the line due to relocation. Members again decided and agreed to meet on Mondays at the same time due to certain challenges. This stands as our meeting day and time.
The Band was Inaugurated on 9th October, 2022 by the Northern Accra Diocesan Executives led by Sister Abigail Esi Gwira, supervised by the then Superintendent Minister, Very Rev. Isaac Ishmael Arthur and Minister In Charge of the Society Rev. Eric Kwaku Kodom Boadum. Members enrolled were Eleven although membership at that time stood at fifteen. The remaining four had been already enrolled in their previous Societies.
We are growing and continue to aspire to live by the mission of the Band which seeks to be steadfast in the faith through Jesus Christ, to evangelise, to care for the Sick and to empathise with those who mourn in diverse ways.
The Trinity Methodist Society Christ’s Little Band, Taifa Circuit was established in 2007 with an initial membership of five. Shortly thereafter, three additional members joined bringing the total membership to eight. Over time, the group increased to twelve and held regular Meetings on Sundays after Church services. By 2009, membership had increased to Seventeen prompting the decision to hold an official inauguration. The memorable event took place on Saturday, 26th March, 2011. At the time, Opanyin Yaa Frimpong Badu served as the Accra Diocesan President, Very Rev. Richardson Andam was the Superintendent Minister and Rev. Meshach Offul Abakah was the Minister–ln–Charge of Trinity Methodist Church.
